This painting portrays the two leaders of a wolf pack—the male and female whose experience, cooperation, and bond help guide the group through the challenges of life in the wild.
Wolves have fascinated me for many years, particularly the relationships that exist within a pack. While people often think of leadership as dominance, wolves depend on cooperation, trust, and family bonds. That quiet partnership became the inspiration for The Alphas.
Painted during a period when I was exploring the techniques and traditions of the Grand Central Atelier, this piece allowed me to experiment with luminosity, soft transitions, and layers of scumbled paint. The light moving across the white fur became an important part of the painting, creating an atmosphere that feels both powerful and serene.
More than a portrait of two wolves, The Alphas is a reflection on partnership, loyalty, and the enduring strength that comes from moving through life together.
